US Cotton will be a wholly owned, independent subsidiary of Parkdale Mills Inc, and will continue with its existing management team which consists of Mr. Thomas, President & CEO and senior executives in Operations, Marketing, Finance and Human Resources. The financial terms of the transaction are not being disclosed.
Founded in 1916, Parkdale is one of the largest yarn manufacturers in the world. Today, Parkdale operates 24 plants in four countries and consumes 30% of the U.S. cotton consumption.
Anthony Thomas, the company's President and CEO, founded US Cotton, LLC in 1983. During these formative years, USC functioned as an Importer/Distributor of Swiss Beauty branded round pads. In establishing its business foundation, USC focused on establishing lasting relationships with both its customers and suppliers, while building a sound reputation for caring customer service.
