Century Textiles closes Worli Textile Mill

With reference to the earlier announcement dated December 13, 2006 about the cessation of manufacturing operations at the Company's Textile Mill at Worli, Mumbai consequent upon voluntary retirement opted by about 6300 workers out of about 6600 workers.

Subsequent developments have been given in its Annual Report for 2006-07 which has been filed.

Further thereto, an application dated May 11, 2007 was made by the Company to the Labour Commissioner, Govt of Maharashtra under Section 25(O) of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 for permission to close the Textile Mill at Worli, Mumbai, Century Textiles & Industries Ltd has informed that the Government of Maharashtra, Labour Commissioner has given its permission to close the operations of the said Textile Mill vide their letter dated January 11, 2008 pursuant to which the Textile Mill at Worli, Mumbai has been closed from January 12, 2008.
