A recently released report from Ministry of Industry and Trade shows that in 2007, Vietnam's textile and apparel exports turnover to Japan reached US $700 million, up 12 percent over 2006.
Las year, Japan stood at the third place in the list of export markets for the made–in–Vietnam textile and garment products, just after US and EU.
Among all products shipped to this market, jeans trousers, elastic fabric garments, towels and hospital clothing saw a very strong growth during this period.
After observing the growth in 2007, MOIT experts opined that in the present year also exports to Japan will enjoy similar kind of rise as Governments of both countries have been speeding up negotiation for EPR (Economic Partnership Relation) agreement that will pave favorable conditions for export as well as imports.
