Latest statistical figures delivered by the Customs Department show that in the month of December last year, China exported a total volume of 42,500 tons of polyester staple fibre, up 0.88 percent from November and an increase of over 98.37 percent year-on-year.
Among the total exports, non-combed PSF registered 40,600 tons, an increase of 4.26 over November and gained almost 100 percent against last year. The country shipped nearly 1,900 tons of combed PSF, which plunged 40.39 percent from November, but saw a rise of 73.60 percent against last year.
The average price of PSF in December stood at US $1,243 per ton, up 1.07 percent from November, and 9.55 percent higher than the same period last year. Non-combed PSF was sold at $1,225 per ton, a boost of 1.63 and 8.94 percent respectively. For combed PSF the rates were at $1,634 per ton, mounted by 6.54 and 22.89 percent.
In the entire 12 months last year, total exports of polyester staple fibre touched 410,000 tons. The figures demonstrated a growth of 42.21 percent, with prices averaged at $1,164 per ton, and gain of 7.11 percent over the same period last year.
