Nylon & Spandex fibre output result

Nylon fiber output in December reached nearly 78,730 tons, less 14.73 percent from November, and down 13.23 percent from the same time last year, rendering the biggest drop in 2007, according to the latest data released by National Bureau of Statistics.

In the period from January-December 2007, China's total production of nylon fibers marked 9,51,191 tons, representing a growth of 14.98 percent over last year.

Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Fujian Province remained the top three producers of nylon fiber in 2007, registering a rise of 27.71, 18.74 and 15.25 percent, respectively.

Guangdong Province ranking fourth with a market share of 10.72 percent and Shandong and Henan were positioned at fifth and sixth, with their output of 9.84 and 9.42 percent respectively.

Talking about the growth rate, Fujian Province attained the fastest at 96.06 percent in 2007, followed by Zhejiang at 18.09 percent, where as Shanghai witnessed a declined 3.16 percent from the same period last year.

On the other hand, the data further showed that production of spandex fibers reached 13,417 tons in December 2007, declining by 2,335 tons from November, at 14.83 percent.

In the period from January-December 2007, China produced 1,46,154 tons of spandex fiber, which was augmented by 50,862 tons over 2006, up 34.80 percent.

Provinces like Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Jilin and Shanghai city achieved growth in the production of spandex, over previous year, garnering a rise of 35.69, 33.05, 24.56, 57.84 and 49.23 percent respectively.
