Massive flames engulfed the Raghukul textile market of Surat at around 3.00 PM today. Twelve fire brigades reached on the spot immediately to extinguish the blaze.
It took one hour to control the situation and as per information almost 12 shops got affected from this fire.
Surat, considered to be the textile hub of India, fetches crores of currency by manufacturing synthetic and blended fabric and offers them at lucrative prices. Surat sarees are quite famous among fashionistas.
The region has carved a niche for itself in the world market along with the diamond, silk and chemicals industry.
Although, the reason behind the fire is yet to be known, the estimated loss incurred is not much.
