Texbrasil presents results from the 1st Intl fairs of 2008

“We made formal contact with a Spanish distributor and we gave a positive evaluation to our performance. The number of contacts with requests to visit by the distributor exceeded our expectations,” said Luiz Fernando Mota da Cruz, commercial director at Buá.

“The number of contracts and their quality exceeded our expectations. We expect to reach our commercial goals,” says Roberto Massanori Yokomizo, director of YKZ.

Twenty-one companies participated at the Colombiatex Fair in Colombia: Alpargatas, Branyl, Cataguases, Cedro, Conformatec, Fábrica de Tecidos Carlos Renaux, Horizonte Têxtil, Linhas Setta, Manufatora, Neotextil, Paraguaçu, Paramount, Rosset, Salotex, Santanense, Santista Têxtil, Têxtil Bezerra de Menezes, TDB Têxtil, Tecelagem Hudtelfa, Vicunha and Zanotti.

They successfully participated in an exclusive fashion show for Brazilian companies where they were able to show the Colombian press and opinion formers their main launches in fabrics, already finalized by stylists and renowned brands.

A total of 2106 contacts were made and about 7.48 million dollars were generated in business. The expectation is for 50.3 million dollars in business to be generated over the next 12 months.

“Colombiatex is very important for Cedro, which is why we have continued to participate at this fair for several years now. This edition was even better than last year, since the quality of the visits was better,” says Luciana Tanabe,sales manager at Cedro.

The French Prêt-à-Porter, held in Paris January 24-27, had the participation of 3 Brazilian companies, which received support from the Texbrasil Program: Jupe, Clube de Estilo and 1001 Retalhos.

Contacts were made from countries like France, Greece, England, Japan, Italy, Ireland, Australia, Denmark, Switzerland, Korea, Israel and others from the Middle East. Total business volume at the fair reached 45.7 million dollars and the expectation is for another 115 thousand to be closed by the end of 2008.
