According to the Information Department of Industry Association, China's sewing machine industry continued to progress in 2007. The statistics were collected through 90 domestic machinery enterprises, from January to November 2007.
Overall industrial output value reached nearly 17 billion yuan, an increase of 12.54 percent from the same time of the previous year. Total 84,70,000 sets of sewing machines were produced, a rise of almost 9.97 percent.
According to the Customs Statistics, from January to November, domestic exports amounted US $1.37 billion, an increase of 9.88 percent.
In 2007, Chinese sewing machinery industry continued to adjust and optimize its industrial structure. In this period, enterprises paid heed to enhance their ability of independent innovation. Technological and scientific content of products increased greatly, and remarkable achievements were seen in brand building.
At the biannual China International Sewing Machinery and Accessories (CISMA) expo, Chinese enterprises competed with international brands, and performed equally well, marking a new stage in the industry.
Experts assert that 2008 will see the domestic sewing machinery reaching new horizons by promoting optimization and upgrading of industrial structure. The improvement in economic operation and development mode would lead to steady growth.
