The Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Murli Deora has directed Oil Marketing Companies(OMCs), IOC, BPCL, HPCL to urgently take remedial steps regarding complaints of hardships faced by domestic LPG consumers in West Bengal.

Shri Deora assured the ex-Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Shri Batin Sengupta, who met the Minister in Delhi, that Government is already seized of the issue regarding LPG supply backlog in some parts and has taken initiatives to enhance availability as well as check diversion of domestic LPG for unintended use.

The Minister informed that additional imports have been tied up by the oil companies besides operating LPG bottling plants during extra hours and holidays. Shri Sengupta had complained about delay in LPG supply to the consumers in West Bengal.
