After Union budget 2008-09, Mr Tarun Chawla, Managing Director of Malwa Industry Limited told Fibre2fashion, “This budget was for farmers. As the election is about to happen in a few days time, FM has made an attempt to make layman happy.

"However, we can say that the overall budget is good. FM has put an effort and concentrated on the industries that needed maximum attention."

The Malwa Industry Head further stated, “Textile industry was expecting some relief from Government like reimbursement of state duty and on duty drawbacks, when this sector is facing the heat of appreciating rupee. However, no heed was paid in this regard.”

In conclusion the Mr Chawla reiterated, “I am not happy as far as Malwa or the textile industry is concerned. Though, as an individual, I can say it's a good one and whatever have been announced would add in increasing GDP.”
