The MOIT recently released a statistical report on textile and apparel exports for the month of February. The figures show a declining trend in comparison with January.
Last month the export turnover dropped nearly US $160 million against the data received in January. Experts consider that the reason behind this fall, as most of the textile and garment companies in Vietnam had put a pause on their workings due to the traditional Tet festival.
Thus, earnings in the month of February could reach only $650 million.
Although, last month export figures saw a plunge, in the first two months 2008, the turnover reaches $1.46 billion, representing a year–on–year growth of around 42 percent.
