According to experts, in 2008, export rebate rate of China textile industry, which includes textile and clothing products, will possibly decrease by 4 percent. The current rate is 11 which will come down to 7.
Industry insiders suggest that, this decrease of export rebate rate would make enterprises shift their focus to domestic market.
In 2006, Government had adjusted export rebate, of textile and clothing merchandise, bags and other products from 13 to current 11 percent. For viscose rayon it came down from 13 to 5 percent.
Many entrepreneurs expressed worry, as their current profit is around 3 percent and if Government continues to decrease export rebate, their profit margin would reduce. Then it is possible that many textile enterprises would close down in near future.
