Employees of specialty chemicals group LANXESS AG will benefit from its strong business performance in 2007. The company is providing EUR 46 million in bonus payments, of which some EUR 28 million will be paid out in Germany. LANXESS employs approximately 7,000 people at its German sites.

“We are proud of the further substantial improvement in our results that we achieved for the third year in a row,“ said Rainier van Roessel, Labor Director and member of the Board of Management of LANXESS AG.

“This success is founded on the dedication and commitment of our employees. We are pleased that they will participate in the success of our enterprise through these payments where bonus arrangements have been agreed.“

The bonus is calculated on the basis of LANXESS's EBITDA pre exceptionals, which is also the Group's principal controlling parameter.

EBITDA pre exceptionals rose in 2007 by 6.5 percent to EUR 719 million. The bonuses will be paid out together with salaries at the end of April.

LANXESS is a leader in specialty chemicals with 2007 sales of EUR 6.61 billion and around 14,600 employees in 21 countries. The company is represented at 41 production sites worldwide.

The core business of LANXESS is the development, manufacture and sale of speciality chemicals, plastics, rubber and intermediates.
