NTC plans to revive sick mills

National Textile Corporation (NTC) the single largest Textile Central Public Sector Enterprise under Ministry of Textile is planning to improve the condition of these mills by joining hands with private companies. The aim is to improve infrastructure so that, these can function smoothly.

To channelize this properly, Government has planned to modernize 12 more NTC mills through joint ventures. Under this policy, Dhule Mills and Nanded Mills in Maharashtra, Sodepur Mills and Laxminarayan Cotton Mills in West Bengal and Tirupathi Mills in Andhra Pradesh, will be modernized.

Previously, such initiatives were taken like Pantaloon Retail had collaborated with NTC to revive Mumbai-based Apollo Textile Mills and Gold Mohur Textile Mills. Alok industry was the private partner for Aurangabad Textile Mills and New City of Bombay Manufacturing Mills.
