Noman aims high with new textile unit

Some of the major customers of Noman, include Marks & Spencer, ASDA, a sister concern of Wal-Mart, Carrefour and Sweden-based IKEA.
Zaber & Zubair Fabrics Ltd, one of the subsidiaries of Noman Group, on March 31 this year, was awarded 'National Export Trophy (Gold)' by the Government, for achieving significant development in the export of the country for the year 2003-04, in Dhaka.
The Government of Bangladesh has set an export target of US $310 million for the home textile sector in the current fiscal year. During July-January this fiscal, producers of this particular segment exported items worth nearly $162.91 million.
In 2006-07, the country exported home textile worth almost $256.97 million and during this period, products worth $110 billion were consumed globally. The nation aims to boost its exports further to earn more foreign currency.
