Ramatex, a Malaysian textile company in Namibia went for a closure leaving nearly 3,000 people jobless.
Mr Evilastus Kaaronda, Secretary General of the National Union of Namibian Workers (NUNW) stated in a press conference that the Government could have taken a more proactive stance to prevent such a mishap.
The affected workers are not even sure about their future and waits for a Government measure to swipe away their grievances.
Experts also believe that the company took advantage of a loophole in the contract signed with the authorities to manipulate the Government.
Although the Government had good intentions of allowing Ramatex to operate on domestic grounds, more precaution were needed to keep the company under severe supervision.
