Net sales of Raymond's Textile Division go up

Raymond Limited announced its audited financial results for the year ended March 31, 2008.

For the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2008, total income is higher by 25% at Rs 445.01 crores as compared to Rs 357.09 crores in the previous year.

The profit before tax and exceptional items for the quarter was higher by 6% at Rs 30.52 crores, as against Rs 28.84 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The net profit after tax for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2008 is higher by 98% at Rs 21.17 crores, against Rs 10.68 crores in the previous year.

During the quarter ended March 31, 2008, the net sales of Textile Division registered a growth of 27% to Rs 379.04 crore as against Rs 298.16 crore in the previous year.

The Files & Tools Division reported an overall growth of 18% in net sales during Q4 2008, over the previous year from Rs 45.11 crore to Rs 53.17 crore.

The branded apparel subsidiaries of the company continued their strong sales growth during the quarter and have grown by 39% over the previous year.

Further, the company continues to expand its retail network across India. For the year ended March 31, 2008, total income is higher by 4% at Rs 1408.75 crores as compared to Rs 1354.21 crores in the previous year.

The company posted a profit before tax and exceptional items of Rs 86.15 crores for FY 07-08 as compared to Rs 157.86 crores in FY06-07.

The results of the company for the year ended March 31, 2007 includes the results of the erstwhile denim division for four months of the year and therefore the current full year's results are not strictly comparable to the previous year.
