A strategic political move was taken on May 18 where representatives of Iran and Slovenia Chambers of Commerce and Industries decided to strengthen bilateral trade by means of establishing economic commissions in capital cities of the two countries.

The meeting was pioneered by Mr Zedniko Pavcek, Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Slovenia and Mr Javad Mossadeqi, Secretary General of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Mines.

Both the delegates agreed upon setting up of a commission with a belief that this initiative would prepare grounds for private sectors in both the nations to have a more frequent and regularized interaction for increasing inter-country activities.

Besides, the Iranian delegate also expressed keen interest in cooperating with Slovenia in the field of energy. Some 70 percent of the latter's export-bound products are for eastern Asia with potential mostly in the fields of chemicals, machinery, textile and paper.
