The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) in coordination with the Labor Fund, the Bahrain Training Institute (BTI) and various other non-governmental organizations will provide nearly 2000 Baharaini unemployed women with jobs.
This enormous group of unemployed women will be given the opportunity to establish their own tailoring and fashion design businesses through a training program which will also include basics business administration, accounting, customer services and law courses apart from practical training such as cutting, embroidery, and design.
After the first phase of training, these women will be provided with necessary materials to establish a small tailoring business operable from home until they set up their own tailoring and design factory.
Dr Lulwa Al Awadhi, Secretary-General of Supreme Council for Women said in a press conference, "The project will train 30 ladies at the BTI and will include six modules, which will be carried out for a period of six months."
This scheme will help reduce the number of unemployed women in Bahrain who account for 76.6 percent of the total jobless citizens in the country.
