Ethylene output down in April

According to Government data released recently, ethylene output of Japan in April 2008 reduced 8.8 percent from the same time last year, due to overhauling of equipments by several key manufacturers.
Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), said that Japanese national production of ethylene in April reached 569,400 tons, while the production of the same period last year marked 624,400 tons. Meanwhile, March output also stood at 585,800 tons.
In April this year, two ethylene plants were under maintenance, one ethylene plant shut down last April. Besides, three ethylene plants went in for maintenance in March this year.
