The Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association is supporting Texfair 2008, bringing nearly 15 international buyers from countries like: Costa Rica, France, Portugal, Colombia, Mexico and Canada, as well as journalists from England, Turkey and Italy.

These visitors are coming to the country through sponsorship by Texbrasil, an ABIT program developed in partnership with Apex – Brasil.

Texbrasil's mission is to support and prepare sector companies to present Brazilian products in the international market in an organized manner, encouraging their insertion in the globalized market.

The program promotes business rounds that aim at generating solid business opportunities between exhibiters and international buyers.

The textile and apparel industry is the main industrial activity in the city of Blumenau. There are 952 sector companies installed in the city, generating 26.5 thousand jobs.

The state is the second most important in the sector with annual earnings exceeding US$ 5 billion, representing nearly 15.5% of the national Textile GDP, which is about US$ 34.6 billion.
