According to the Development Council of Cambodia, Malaysia has emerged to be the largest investor in the country for the past 14 consecutive years with investment amounting to US $2.19 billion.

Report of March 2008 shows that Malaysia ranked first followed by China in the second place.

Some of the key areas of focus for investment by Malaysian companies are textile, power generation, manufacturing, and petroleum among others.

This growing investment trend goes to explain that Cambodia still remains an attractive destination for foreign companies especially from Malaysia.

Infact, trade between the two countries have also been flourishing unabated and this is another reason why a large number of Malaysian manufacturers and retailers have set up a base in Korea to explore and expand domestic markets.

Malaysia exported goods worth RM44.8 million to Cambodia in January 2008 alone.
