The management of Ten Cate Advanced Textiles bv has decided to accelerate its implementation of a further focus on high-grade textile activities, in order to structurally improve profitability.
This will be done by means of a reorganization, in which 47 employees are involved. The reorganization will have a very limited influence on the total Group result in 2008.
Within the Ten Cate Technical Fabrics bv operating company (part of Ten Cate Advanced Textiles bv) a concentration will take place of high-grade production activities, such as the coating and flame-resistant finishing of substrates.
Finishing activities for third parties that generate too low a profit will be discontinued. The production activities in relation to the "outdoor" product portfolio will be maintained.
In the context of the Nijverdal-Noord Masterplan, the production activities of Ten Cate Technical Fabrics bv will be integrated with Ten Cate Protect bv at a later stage in order to be able to achieve further synergy benefits.
Management has submitted the proposed decision to the works council for advice and has entered into consultation with the trade unions concerned.
