Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Angola, Dario Katata, recently expressed his satisfaction on the proper implementation of cotton irrigation project in Gangula commune in central Kwanza-Sul Province.
Considering the present work being executed, the Deputy Minister was confident that the project for irrigation of 3,000 hectares of land from March 2009 at a cost of nearly US $40 million was on right on schedule.
It is expected that the irrigation waters will be supplied to the farmlands within the scheduled period, if the present pace of work on the project is maintained.
On completion, this cotton irrigation project will provide jobs to 3,000 families in the region.
