With the announcement to avoid the use of wool coming from mulesed sheep, Adidas has become the new soldier in the battle against inhumane animal treatment.
This multinational sportswear manufacturer has confirmed its support for the campaign against mulesed wool which is a inhumane practice of removing skin from a sheep's backside to prevent flystrike.
However, this decision of the company will have a negligible impact on its current operation since the brand, anyway does not make use of wool in the manufacturing of its products.
The decision was taken by Adidas at its global headquarters at Herzogenaurach in Germany and coincidentally its in line with the company's ethical sourcing policy.
