BCPL petrochemical project to achieve financial closure in Sept '08

A board meeting was recently held to review the project progress of Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL). The board was apprised on progress of the financial closure, being planned by September 2008.
Expressing its satisfaction on the project progress, Board expressed its gratitude to Government of India and Government of Assam for their support and guidance. It was also informed that the major construction activities at the project site shall commence soon after the monsoon.
The project is targeted for its mechanical completion in 60 months time from April 2007 i.e. April 2012.
BCPL is a Joint Venture Company of GAIL (India) Limited, Government of Assam, Oil India Limited and Numaligarh Refinery Limited. BCPL is implementing Rs 54.6 billion project to set up a 280,000 TPA petrochemical plant in Assam, India.
