In view of a closer cooperation with the working group Textiles of the German Association of the Automotive Industry we expect presentations from experts about the developments in the use of man-made fibers in car manufacturing.

Upon availability of details we will be publish them on our homepage under the topic Last Minute Highlights. Important synergies can be expected for DORNBIRN-MFC as the topic Car Manufacturing will be repeated alternatively with IAA Frankfurt. The next one will be in 2010.

Record Number of Lectures on Sustainability:
The broad interest in sustainability is reflected in many of the 120 lectures (6 plenary sessions, 114 individual lectures).

More than 20 international man-made fiber and filament producers, some 20 universities/High Schools/Research Institutes Europe/USA, Japan), Roof Organisations (Europe/USA) and further 40 lead companies from car manufacturing, Apparel, Nonwonvens, Auxiliaries and Machine Manufacturing will present on the topics : New Development in Fibers, Safety, Technical Textiles, Nonwovens, Sportswear, EU Research Project a cross-section of the innovative capabilities of the man-made fibers industry and the scientific/technical potential of institutes and universities. The lectures will be completed with market data and testing methods for processing oriented performance profiles.

Presentation of new sustainability brochure from Lenzing AG
The Lenzing Group will use DORNBIRN-MFC as the launching platform for its 3rd edition of the brochure on sustainability with the title “Focus Sustainability”.

Environmental protection, climate changes, energy consumption, these topics dominate current headlines of newspapers and TV stations worldwide.

They are of influence on a global industrial producer like the Lenzing group, too. The latest edition will feature the milestones in environmental protection, social responsibility and economy.

Coordination talks with CCFA:
After the visit of a delegation of CCFA (Chinese Chemical Fiber Association) at the DORNBIRN-MFC 2007 a closer cooperation of the 2 organisations was envisaged.

The main target is the coordination of a spring congress in China with the September congress in Dornbirn on the topic of man-made fibers to establish more intense contact between fiber producers in Asia and Europe/The Americas. Talks will be resumed in June 2008.

Topic Last Minute Highlights meets expectations:
To meet with the dynamics of our times we have created a section called Last Minute Highlights with a possibility for a maximum of 9 lectures.

Apart of the lectures from car makers and their suppliers the company Rhodia Polyamide and Specialities from Santo Andre /Brasil will present a new fiber that will be offered to the market only by August.
