Lonati upgrades all sock-knitting machines

Lonati S.p.A, a leading world manufacturer of sock-knitting machines with an annual output of over 8,000 machines, has designed a fully revised range for 2008.

The classic G 5JA men's sock knitting machine with a flipping dial, which has been marketed all over the world, with one hundred units ready for installation in North-American factories, is now flanked by the newly-designed FH with external automatic toe linking, which can be mounted on all existing models.

This version has greatly simplified sock pick-up and seaming operations, giving clear advantages in terms of production and cost saving. Different versions will be available in summer and 1000 machines will be produced in the first year.

All standard models have been upgraded – 5 and 6 colour single-feed, double feed, filet and 3D.

As regards stocking knitting machines, Lonati has entered the market of therapeutic support and compression stockings with the range of new ME models, gauges 4”-6”, with alternate heel, in different sizes, and feeders for compression control.

For classic stockings, Lonati has also developed a new model L02, 4”, 4 feeds per knit plus 2 feeds for additional colours, for working on two feeds with 5 colours on the parallel row and one colour on the elastomer row. A model flanking the standard series in the production of patterned stockings, with and without a heel, and models for filet and high-speed plain knit.

To complete the range of machines, Lonati is updating the double cylinder series in the basic and closed toe versions. These three ranges complement the over 40 models produced at the factory in Brescia.
