ADVANSA to introduce Thermo°Cool at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market

ADVANSA Europe's leading manufacturer of polyester fiber and yarn for home, apparel, and technical textiles, will introduce its latest innovation, ADVANSA Thermo°Cool, a unique thermoregulation fiber, to the US market.

ADVANSA markets it own branded fibers globally plus former DuPont brands to which it has exclusive marketing rights in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

ADVANSA Thermo°Cool, specially designed for performance sports apparel and footwear, will be launched at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City, August 8-11, in Booth 255-523.

“ADVANSA Thermo°Cool addresses the specific demands outdoor enthusiasts make of their apparel and footwear,” says Gerard Illeras, ADVANSA's Active Sportswear market manager.

“The special hybrid fiber blend enables evaporative cooling when wearers perspire plus thermo-buffering to maintain a comfortable body temperature. ADVANSA Thermo°Cool provides year-round performance for these demanding consumers.”

As a result of its unique fiber construction, fabrics made with ADVANSA Thermo°Cool are able to provide superior moisture and temperature control to keep wearers comfortable across a wide range of temperatures and activity levels:

- During physical exertion or in hot weather, ADVANSA Thermo°Cool wicks moisture faster than other materials by as much as 48%.

The fiber is designed with maximum surface area and micro-channels to transport moisture quickly away from the skin.

The fiber's hollow interior enhances air circulation and focuses energy on the heat transfer process to maximize evaporative cooling. In fact, ADVANSA Thermo°Cool evaporates moisture 53% better than other options.

- When the wearer is at risk of chills, such as after physical activity in cold weather, the fiber's channels also enable the fabric to provide lightweight, thermo-buffering properties.

It protects against rapid temperature changes, capturing body heat or allowing excess heat to dissipate evenly as the wearer's body temperature dictates.

ADVANSA's experience in human thermoregulation is extensive. ADVANSA resulted from a joint venture between E. I. DuPont de Nemours and Sabanci Holding, to create Europe's leading polyester manufacturer.

Since Sabanci acquired DuPont's shares in 2004, ADVANSA has continued to invest significantly in research and development. “ADVANSA combines excellent science with a thorough understanding of the end user's wants and needs.

Our approach results in meaningful, innovative products like ADVANSA Thermo°Cool that perform to the most stringent expectations,” adds Mr. Illeras.

The Ecological Option:
Answering customer's expectations, ADVANSA ThermoºCool is also available in an ECO version. For customers concerned about the environment, this version uses a polymer that is made from renewable resources, such as corn, instead of traditional petrochemicalderivates.

This puts ADVANSA ThermoºCool ECO right in the middle of the market trend. “By replacing traditional petrochemicals with renewable resources and biological processes, we are a step closer to building a renewable economy.

This is fully consistent with ADVANSA's sustainability policy. We also want to take part in this worldwide effort by offering customers the possibility to make an ecological choice” said Gerard Illeras, ADVANSA's Sportswear market manager.
