Since the beginning of this year, the price of terylene industrial yarn in China has recorded a steady hike. Sources report that in just first six months, the product's price has gained over 800 yuan per ton.
It has been noted that since polypropylene-fiber yarn price has climbed significantly, many textile manufacturers are opting for terylene yarn. This rise in demand supported the surge in prices.
Experts reckon that the rapid growth in exports have influenced terylene rates immensely.
Besides, unexpected fire at Korea Hyosung Group, one of the major suppliers with yearly output of 6000 tons, adversely affected its production. Meanwhile, development of overall industry in the first half of 2008 was slow.
Thus, it has become harder to keep prices under control. However, analysts say that terylene industrial yarn prices are unlikely to ascend further.
