Handicraft competition witnesses immense participation

The women of Belait District gave a live demonstration of their excellent creativity on August 3, during a handicraft competition that took place at Dewan Bandaran. The event was organized by Belait Pertiwi Association in conjunction with 62nd birthday celebration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
The contest was divided into four categories, which featured nearly 48 types of artworks and weaving. Women participants stunned the onlookers with their exclusive art work that varied from weaving to embroidery on different mediums. Each piece was a remarkable example of outstanding artistry. The event turned out to be a perfect platform to showcase their hidden talent.
The event was a big hit as large number of participants as well as visitors had gathered here, for becoming a part of His Majesty's birthday bash which is a national occasion.
