Both PTA and MEG prices saw a declining trend on Monday, August 11. Even prices of semi-dull and bright polyester chips also went down. However, CDP section, PET bottle slice prices were experiencing a temporary stability.

Acrylic Staple 1.5 D × 38mm, acrylic top 3 D × 102mm moved sideways, CPL price corrected, nylon 6 slice were slightly downward.

Trade volume in polyester filament market is not showing any positive trend as prices of most items decreased. Presently, the purchasing power of downstream market is yet to recover. Traders, weaving mills and texturizing plants are cautious, and therefore, in the near future also the polyester filament market is expected to face sales pressures. Even PSF prices continued to move slightly downward.

On the other hand, cotton spun yarn market was stable as a whole; prices continued to look dull; demand of rayon yarn products narrowed. Polyester / Viscose yarn price remained stable; however, 40s still showed some demand in the market.

Polyester/cotton of proportions of 65:35, and 80:20 saw steady demand from the down stream manufacturers with price stability. Polyester and viscose yarn were also showed slight change in prices. Polyester yarn 45s still had market demand. While all of other polyester yarns shrank in trade volumes, individual species moved further lower in price.
