In the period from January to July, export turn over of Thai Binh city, located in Northern Province, touched US $120.61 million, recording a rise of 48.5 percent year-on-year. Of which, share of local enterprises comes to around $76.9 million and rest of FDI worth $43.7 million.
Among all exporting commodities, textile and apparel products topped the list during the period, including textile worth $19.5 percent showing a growth of 14.9 percent and garment touched $70.75 million, an increase of 48.9 percent. Polyester fibre worth $11.44 million was also exported in these seven months.
On the other hand, enterprises from the Province imported materials worth $91.25 million, depicting a surge of 40.8 percent year-on-year. Vietnam expended $56.324 million, $6.92 million and $7 million for procuring garment, textile material and machines respectively, during the period from January to July, 2008.
