After the success of 2007, Pakistani textile enterprises once again participated in the Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles Exhibition-2008 that concluded yesterday.

This 3-day annual Shanghai Fair began on August 26 this year and was covering a 100,000 square meters of trade space. It is organized by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT and China Home Textile Association (CHTA).

Calculations show that this year's event has bound to have attracted more visitors than the 2007 fair, especially since there were over 900 exhibitors.

Sources say that buyers from China, Australia, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan also attended this fair.

Thus, experts stressed that this Fair has been major opportunity for Pakistan's home-textile industry to draw in big international orders.

Reportedly, as many as 15 key businesses related to textile fields from Pakistan showcased their products here.

Insiders report that Pakistani companies received huge interest from global buyers and held several fruitful business meetings with potential clients.

The special buyers programme organized at the Exhibition, to strengthen co-operation and communication between suppliers and buyers, also helped the dealers to a large extent.
