Langholm Dyeing Company, one of the major firms in Dumfriesshire was looking for a buyer since it ran into administration in July. Owing to reasons like global credit crunch and inability to cope up with difficult situations, the dyeing unit had to shut its operations leaving nearly 52 workers jobless.
However, now the plant has been purchased by a former employee and has once again got into action.
Sources informed Fibre2fashion that, the work at the Langholm Dyeing Company began from August 18. The new buyer has purchased the building, unit, as well as equipments along with 15 members under the name FTS Dyers.
By the end of October, the new company aims to have almost 30 more people associated with it. Langholm Dyers was founded in 1946 by David Stevenson.
