Due to continued weakness in the demand in certain of its products, Ahlstrom revises its full-year outlook for 2008. Operating profit excluding non-recurring items is expected to be almost at the level of 2007, which was EUR 67.8 million.
Softness of demand is visible especially in the USA in products related with changes in consumer spending patterns, such as wiping fabrics, filtration and nonwovens for cars, housing filtration materials, as well as glassfiber reinforcement applications for the marine industry.
Ahlstrom previously estimated its full-year operating profit to improve from last year.
