BGate-2008 clothing and textile fair closes on a good note

For the sixth consecutive year the Bulgarian Association of Producers and Exporters of Textiles and Apparel (BAATPE) organized BGate -2008, Balkan's clothing and textile Fair.

The specialized event was held from 25th to 27 of September in Inter Expo and Congress Center - Sofia and has presented new and/or already established brands for clothing, textiles and accessories, machinery and a wide range of specialized equipment.

The exhibition was opened with an official ceremony on September 25 and the ribbon was cut by the vice minister of MEE Anna Ianeva and Mrs. Valeria Jekova, Chairman of the Board of BAATPE.

In the welcome speech, Mr. Henry Tvesten, head of the German Office of Technology Partnership in Bulgaria expressed his appreciation of responsibility and commitment to the Association's long collaboration with GTZ. The exhibition also welcomed Mr. Ivan Ivanov, director of the BULGARREKLAMA Agency, co-organizer of BGate 2008.

Congratulations messages on opening of the exhibition were recieved from representatives of CEIBG.

There was particpation from more than 110 companies from Bulgaria, Turkey, Germany, Greece, Austria and Italy. The exhibition is a unique special event in Bulgaria and enjoys growing popularity among the countries of the Balkans and Europe, which is evidenced from the companies who have been traditional participants.

Business delegations and representatives of European textile companies from Greece, Turkey, Germany, France, Canada, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Great Britain, visited the fair in great numbers and laid the foundations of new partnerships.

Two major events - International Conference “Innovations in Textile and Clothing" and the First International forum on female entrepreneurship - were accompanying programs at BGate 2008.

BGate 2008 organized also representative fashion shows with the latest collections of famous Bulgarian companies and current fashion trends for 2009. A special catwalk followed by a cocktail presented fashion brands as «MARKAM», «VIEMA», «ETERE», «NIA&Dorado», «Lara Vill», «BORYANA», «SVA Sevani». It ended with a collective representation of young designers from New Bulgarian University in Sofia. Organizers of the whole event were BAATPE, along with creative studio «T&Y» and fashion agency "Next ONE".

The first day of the exhibition ended with a «BGate Fashion Party», jointly organized by BAATPE and club "ESCAPE"- Sofia for exhibitors and guests of Fair.
