Toray Industries Inc has been selected as an index component of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World), a leading global SRI (Socially Responsible Investment) index, for the second consecutive year.

The index is reviewed in September every year. DJSI world 2008/2009, which took effect on September 22, 2008, includes 320 companies all over the world, of which 36 companies are Japanese including Toray.

In Chemicals sector, in which Toray is allocated, 9 companies have been selected as index components of DJSI world 2008/2009. Toray is the only Japanese company selected from Chemicals sector for the second consecutive year.

DJSI world is the stock price index which was developed in 1999 by the cooperation of Dow Jones Indexes, an index provider in the U.S. and SAM (Sustainable Asset Management) Group, an SRI research and asset management company, and is known as an influential index for the stock selection of SRI funds.
