Congressman Robin Hayes (R-NC), a member of the U.S. House of Representatives Armed Services Committee and a strong proponent of the Berry Amendment, will make a special luncheon presentation at the U.S. Textile Industry's Military Textiles Conference at the Charlotte Convention Center on October 21.
The Berry Amendment requires that only U.S.-made clothing and textiles be purchased by the Department of Defense, and Congressman Hayes strongly supports this requirement.
The newly formed Textile Industry Coalition on Government Procurement is sponsoring the one-day conference which begins at 10 AM on October 21.
Members of the coalition are the National Textile Association, American Manufacturing Trade Action Coalition, National Council of Textile Organizations and U.S. Industrial Fabrics Institute.
