The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) and the Textile Education Department of the College of Textiles at North Carolina State University have partnered to offer “eLearning” instruction to individuals involved in all facets of the textile supply chain. The online course, Textile Fundamentals, provides a comprehensive, in-depth study of textile processing from fibers to finishing.
This state-of-art online learning experience includes animation and videos—the next best thing to hands-on training, from the convenience of your work or home computer. Modules also include text of the narration, a textile glossary, and a detailed index of topics.
Current modules include: Fundamentals of Fibers, Spun Yarn Manufacturing, Warp Preparation, Weft Knitting, Weaving Fundamentals, Nonwovens, Fabric Preparation, Color and Color Properties, and Dyestuffs and Applications. Modules focusing on Chemical and Mechanical Finishing, Warp Knitting, Printing, and Texturing will soon be available, as well.
