Materials in Transportation--Land, Sea and Space, which featured speakers from NASA, Chrysler, the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Boeing Rotorcraft; Simatext High Technology Fabrics, Guilford Performance Textiles, City College-CUNY, and Foamex Interntional, Inc.
Fabric Graphics--Your Environmental Edge, which focused on business-building trends and forecasts for print, ink and textile technologies which provide sustainable, evnironmental advantages. Fabrics & Finishes for Consumer Demands, which featured industry experts from Cornell University Textile Nanotechnology Laboratory, LaamScience, and Marchina & Deppa detailing advanced performance characteristics, finishing technique and nanotechnolotgies and product safety standards.
Medical Textile Technologies--Nonwovens, Wovens and more, which was organized with NCSU Collect of Textiles. It featured new and emerging nonwovens for medical use, R&D and product developments such as antibacterial properties, reusable disposables, and a 10-year forecast about what's coming.
Going Beyond Green--Saving Tomorrow Today, in which government and industry leaders provided insights, facts, resources and down-to-earth strategies for going green and the long-term effects achieved. The session included delegates from the EPA, the ES-SO and Alliance for Climate Protection, and several distinguished textile technology companies.

Architects Workshop: How To Get Started Wtih Fabric Structures was a hit with over 70 architects learning about sustainable design with fabric with such distinguished industry experts as Frank Harmon, FAIA, Principal, Frank Harmon Architect PA. Harmon spoke about "Building Greener, Smarter, Susatinable Structures," and is well-known as a professor of architecture at the NC State College of Design.

His work has been featured in numerous national and international journalis, magazines and books on architecture, including The Green House: New Directions in Sustainable Architecture. Other speakers included Wayne Rendely, P.E., who is a member of the ASCE committee that writes the "ASCE Standard for Tensilve Membrance Structures;" and Samuel Armijos, vice president of FabriTec Structures.

Another event which showcased the versitile offerings at IFAI Expo 2008 was a futuristic museum called the Design Exhibition 2008. It displayed the most creative advanced textiles for health and safety, taking viewers through four sectors,
Space - a demanding environment for mankind to live and work in, representing technologies with safety and health as key requirements
Mobile - materials impacting design aesthetics, performance and environmental issues.
Built - building technologies embedded with aesthetics and high-performance characteristics.
Personal protection - advanced fabrics affecting perception and smart applications.
Natural- protection of environmental hazards, soil erosion, UV-rays and insect-borne illness.
