bluesign technologies ag announces cooperation with AGC (Asahi Glass Co Ltd). In the future AGC will endorse the systematic of the bluesign standard as supporters and will publish their bluesign compliant products in the bluefinder - a product database with ecologically and economically “Best Available Products” for the textile industry.

“We are proud, having gained with AGC the first Japanese originated supporter for the bluesign standard” said Mr. Detlef Fischer, VP bluesign technologies ag. “The AGC Chemicals Company, as its long-term management policy, is committed to contributing to the creation of effective products that meet environmental goals. For example, clothing items to which water and oil repellents are applied are more stain-resistant and do not need to be washed as often. Moreover, these repellents prolong the lives of the clothes by increasing the durability of fabrics.”

“This enables us to save resources and energy. We regard it as our mission to help people lead more prosperous lives while reducing the impact products have on the environment. We develop products while always taking environmental goals into consideration. AsahiGuard E-SERIES is the one of examples.” said Mr. Teiji Kawada, Performance Chemicals Business Group Leader, Fluoroproducts Division.

AGC (Asahi Glass Co Ltd) whose Glass Company, Display Company and Chemicals Company hold one of the first places has expanded its business fields towards the frontier and the growth industries such as electronics & energy through these core companies. AGC takes pride in the world-class level of core technologies, glass and fluorine chemistry. AGC began distribution of "Asahi Guard", fluorinated water/oil repellent agent, for textiles in 1971. It's been recognized for high performance for more than 35 years. "Asahi Guard" has been sold in more than 30 countries.
