Textile industry in Thailand holds a special place in its economy. It is one of the key foreign exchange earners for the nation.
Thailand's textile and garment exports turnover fetched nearly US $5.48 billion during the first nine months of current year, representing a year–on–year surge of 5.7 percent.
Country's exports to the US market, one of the major destinations, has dropped by 1.9 percent in comparison to the similar period previous year.
However, exports to other major markets enjoyed growth, including EU for $1.03 billion, up 5.6 percent and Japan for $363.4 million, showcasing a surge by 31.81 percent.
