In November, yarn production across the country touched 1,884,000 tons, up 4.1 percent year-on-year, but growth rate declined 9.8 percentage points from the same period last year, while in the first eleven months of the year, the cumulative yarn output reached 19,750,000 tons, up 9 percent over the same period last year but growth rate fell 7.1 percent.
According to statistics released by the Customs, China's textile and apparel exports registered US $15.430 billion in November, up 2.7 percent, but growth rate declined 15.5 percent. In the period January to November this year, exports from the sector amounted to $169.15 billion, up 8 percent over the same period last year, but growth rate fell 11.9 percent year-on-year.
Cotton yarn and polyester staple fiber prices continued to fall in November. November price of carded cotton yarn 32s averaged at 17,802 Yuan per ton, down 1553 Yuan per ton, or 8 percent from the previous month while average price of polyester staple fiber was 7050 Yuan per ton, down 2154 Yuan per ton, or 23.4 percent from the previous month.
