FabricLink.com, Nüwa Textiles and TEXbase with sponsors: Dri Release, and X-STATIC for a Textile Industry Mixer. Share ideas and concerns in product development, make new contacts and create new business in a growing community. Once forbidden substances will be served –cold and foamy.

Details:
Date: Friday, January 23, 2008
Networking and Beer - 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the TEXbase booth No 62045, across from the Salt Palace Business Center

Fabriclink.com together with Nüwa Textiles has initiated this mixer. Knowing that the show is an intense time for buyers and sellers alike, Kathy Swantko, founder of the FabricLink Network has had a personal objective to bring more cohesion to the textile industry, “This mixer is a long-term goal come to fruition. There is no better time than now to pull together as an industry, share ideas, and make new contacts to benefit our community. And, thanks to our group of sponsors, this important Textile Industry Panel and follow-up Networking Party is finally becoming a reality!” comments Swantko.

This mixer follows up the morning panel discussion sponsored by FabricLink.com, the TechincalCenter.com and TEX Base, “Caution: Restricted Substance Legislation---Ripple Effects Throughout the Supply Chain.” This winter's discussion will address product safety regulations and what they mean to business. The entire supply change is effected, although positive, this transition can mean inventory that could be unsafe and illegal to sell. Topics will educate how to not be caught off guard now or in the future with consumer product safety agendas.

The impact on the entire supply chain is significant. Current global pressures will continue to increase into the future with mounting regulations on restricted substances. FabricLink and TEXbase present this Panel to address what this legislation means to Brands, Suppliers and Retailers; and to explore the supply chain's responsibility to provide transparent production, including ways to track and insure that various components are in compliance with the new safety requirements.

FabricLink's Industry Panels began six years ago and have become a highlight event at the Outdoor Retailer Market. Recent Panels have looked at sustainability issues related to product development: last summer's discussion of ECO-Logical Making Sense of Supply Chain Certification focused on the intricacies of green production. In the on-going evolution of the eco movement, there is now increased attention being paid to the relevant aspects of transparency in the production process to ensure all levels of the supply chain are aware of the protocol in regards to sustainability.

Speakers Include:
• Textile Supplier – AEGIS Environments, W. Curtis White, CEO/Director of R & D
• Major Apparel Brand - Under Armour, Bill Mickle, Director of Material Innovation
• Testing Lab - SGS U.S. Testing Co., Karen Kyllo, Ph.D., Deputy VP Global Softlines
