Carpet Expo to be held in New Delhi from Feb 12-15

The 14th largest fiesta of handmade woolen, silk carpets, rugs and floor-coverings shall be held from 12th to 15th February, 2009 in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi followed by Exhibition-cum-Buyer Seller Meet on 16-17 February, 2009 in Jaipur. The biggest extravaganza of carpets is organized by Carpet Export Promotion Council under the aegis of Govt. of India.

The only established and world wide acclaimed event of South East Asia - India Carpet Expo is a “bench mark” of tremendous business avenues and opportunities for the manufacturers and exporters of India. The organizers have an attractive package for overseas buyers like on spot re-imbursement of air ticket expenses in addition to free stay (2 nights) in a five star hotel in Delhi. The Overseas Buyers attending the Buyer Seller Meet at Jaipur, shall be given an additional US $ 200, besides complimentary hotel accommodation for one night (room rent with breakfast) at Jaipur. More than 300 overseas buyers have got themselves registered with the Council confirming their visit besides 190 exhibitors of Handmade Carpets and floor coverings from every nook and corner of the country.

The India Carpet Expo, upholding the prime motive of the Council, is not only bringing the largest business opportunity to all segments of carpet exporters, beginning from the smallest to the biggest exporter, but it also provides 'unique pick and choose' business opportunity to all kinds of overseas carpet buyers, may be retailers or wholesalers under one roof. Indian Carpet Industry is capable to make any design, quality to cater the demand of customers - vast range and variety of designs etc.

To ponder and foster the exports of Indian Handmade Carpets into the world arena, the Council has envisaged a strategic publicity drive for the promotion of India Carpet Expo. The ultimate endeavor of the Council is to provide exclusive business environment to overseas buyers and exhibitors and thus Council has subsidized participation charges for the manufacturers and exporters on one hand & on the other hand it has offered manifold facilities inducing the influx of overseas customers to the India Carpet Expo.

The Chairman of the Carpet Export Promotion Council, Shri Ashok Jain, Shri M.P. Sharma, 1st Vice-Chairman and Shri Siddh Nath Singh, Convenor, Sub-Committee on ICE and other Members of the Committee are making all possible efforts that ICE continues to open up new business opportunities and will prove to be a tonic to the industry and should be able to arrest the lay off.
