Daily quotation of various raw materials on Feb 2

In the current week, beginning on Monday, Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) and MEG prices went up along with prices of semi-dull and bright polyester chips. A rise in price was also noted in prices of CDP slice and PET bottle chips amid consolidation. Prices of acrylic staple fiber 1.5D*38mm, acrylic top 3D*102mm showed consolidation while CPL and nylon 6 chips prices moved sideways.
Market transaction of polyester filament was not large and the prices moved slightly higher amid stability. High quality POY products rose 50-100 Yuan per ton in Tongxiang region, while POY150D/144F was offered at 7800 Yuan per ton. The overall polyester filament market in Taicang region remained stable.
Production and sales of most of the polyester filament factories was not high, as buying sentiments from downstream weaving units was weak, due to which market experts believe the market for polyester filament is expected to consolidate in the next few days.
Overall yarn market was stable, but trade volumes remained on the lower side, with sale of cotton yarn of all counts satisfactory as cotton yarn is blended with other raw materials like nylon and polyester to manufacture conventional range of fabrics. A good movement was noticed in blended polyester/cotton 65/35 yarn of 32s and 45s count.
Polyester staple fibre prices lifted to levels of 7600 Yuan per ton on Monday, while at the same time trade volumes of polyester and viscose yarn was very limited and prices could barely manage to retain their last week levels. Manmade fibre yarn market is expected to largely move within a limited price frame.
