Benninger Group is under new executive leadership: Heinz Michel who has headed Benninger's Textile Finishing Division since June 2008 is to take over as Chief Executive Officer with effect from March 1, 2009.

Benninger AG's Board of Directors announced the appointment of Heinz Michel as new CEO with effect from March 1, 2009. Heinz Michel looks back on twelve years as CEO of fibre technology components manufacturer Heberlein, now Oerlikon Heberlein Temco Wattwil AG. Since June 2008, he has headed Benninger's Textile Finishing Division.

Following the sale of the Weaving Preparation Division to KARL MAYER Group as from December 1, 2008, Benninger now focuses on the Textile Finishing business where it is the global leader as well as the two specialty areas, Tire Cord and Automation. Benninger's designated CEO, Heinz Michel, said: “The slump of the global textile machinery market hit us very hard. Still, I am delighted to be able to count on a highly motivated management team as well as highly competent staff."

"Benninger Group's strengths which include market leadership, innovative products, and an excellent reputation for quality and reliable service inspire me with confidence that we are on the right track and can continue to offer the best solutions to our customers.”

As a result of the realignment, Benninger Group's executive management has been resized, now including in addition to designated CEO Heinz Michel, Carmen Hayoz, Chief Financial Officer, and Gerhard Huber, Chief Operating Officer. The current CEO Daniel Hirschi will remain a member of the Board of Directors.

The Swiss company Benninger has been the textile industry's leading partner across the globe for one hundred and fifty years with global branches and service representatives. Benninger is the global leader in developing and manufacturing textile finishing and tire cord machines, which are supplied as complete system solutions.
