According to the official spokesperson of the Japan based Shikibo Group, it has set up a joint venture with Vietnam Textile Garment Group (VINATEX) and CoMo company to manufacture anti-virus and anti-bacteria cloth in Vietnam.
The company will use the Flutect technology to manufacture these protective fabrics to safe guard health workers, patients, cattle and poultry breeders from various types of virus and bacteria.
A sample of the fabric was tested by the Pasteur Institute in HCM city last year. It was proved that fabric produced by Flutect technology is anti-bacterial and helps protect against virus and bacteria like tuberculosis, E-coli, etc.
The commercial production will begin in 2009 itself. Shikibo presented 1,200 sets of blouses and trousers made from the fabric to the nurses and supporting staff at the HCM city Tropical Hospital and Hanoi based national Infectious and Tropical Disease Hospital.
