Feb '09
A new ultra-modern composite textile mill has been set up by the well known Chaity Group at Sonargaon in Naraynganj district of Bangladesh at a cost of Taka 2,000 million. The multifaceted Chaity group has interests in textiles, clothing and accesories and is a supplier to well known brands like H&M, JC Penny, Reebok, Adidas and Wal-Mart.

It is equipped with the most modern European machinery and has a production capacity of 40 tons per day. The unit will manufacture high quality fabrics for the domestic as well as overseas markets and in the process save valuable foreign exchange which was earlier spent in importing fabrics into the country.

The new plant called Chaity Composite Ltd, was inaugurated by the Managing Director of the South-East bank Mr Neaz Ahmed, with a large number of local and foreign dignitaries present on the occasion. Mr Ahmed called the new mill a milestone in the country's fast growing textile and garment sector.
